Does Fintech change the world of accounting and finance – UAE masterclass

We hosted a hybrid masterclass event on current and future trends of fintech in accountancy and finance. The session was hosted by James Bowden, Accounting and Finance Lecturer, and Craig McLaughlin, Senior Teaching Fellow in Accounting and Finance, who discussed the ways in which fintech has changed the way we engage with our finances. We welcomed our community based in the UAE and beyond, including alumni, current students and organisations based in the UAE.

Aspects of the session looked into the strategic strengths that have led to a rapid growth in the number of financial and innovation-related companies operating within the UAE’s fintech ecosystem. The final part of the session focused on the recent technological innovations that have taken place within accounting.

The session was then followed by a networking opportunity where attendees shared their ideas on the topic with the academics.
