A Strathclyde Business School MBA team took part in the Global Social Responsibility challenge run by IIM Bangalore and secured 8th place among 1600 participating teams worldwide. The SBS team collaborated with a team from IIMB and competed as Green Force X Strathclyde.
The Strathclyde team comprised of full-time MBA students Nilam Shete, Pranav and Bhavika Rathore.
Nilam said, “At IIM Bangalore's International Business Summit Vista 2023, a global platform was provided through an International Case Competition focused on "Business Social Responsibility and Impact." This multi-stage event tested participants' problem-solving abilities under intense competitive pressures.
“With over 1600 teams from more than 20 countries, it was a challenging experience that required us to brainstorm and devise the right solution. Representing Team Royal Challengers Strathclyde with Bhavika Rathore and Pranav from the Full-Time MBA Unit, we progressed after clearing the first round.
“Collaborating with Team Green Force from IIM Bangalore, which included Kaustav Brahma, Prashant Verma, Ambar Tayde, and Prakher Gupta, we received valuable mentorship from Mr Abhijit Roy, MD and CEO of Berger Paints India Ltd. Our solution - focused on a marketing and distribution strategy for a social enterprise - earned us a commendable 8th position. Overall, it was an immensely rewarding and enriching learning experience for our team.”
The organisers said, “We extend our gratitude to all GSRC’23 finalists for their contributions and commitment to social responsibility. Your participation has made this event truly remarkable. While we are thrilled to announce the winners, we understand that not everyone can claim the top positions. We want you to know that the judging panel and the entire VISTA GSRC’23 highly valued and greatly admired your efforts, ideas, and contributions. The GSRC'23 showcased an exceptional level of talent and innovation, making the evaluation process challenging for our panel of judges.”
