Strathclyde Business School and the MacEachen Institute for Public Policy and Governance at Dalhousie University, Canada, recently hosted the second of two scenario planning workshops as part of a collaborative research project on accessible tourism.

Funded by a SSHRC Insight Grant, the project brings together SBS researchers Nilou Arabi, Abby Colson, John Quigley, and Tom Baum to explore the barriers and enablers of tourism for people living with disabilities in Nova Scotia and Scotland.

The recent workshop, held at Strathclyde, gathered 20 stakeholders from the tourism industry and individuals with lived experience of accessibility in travel and tourism. Participants engaged in discussions to explore a range of perspectives and collaboratively develop policy responses to several future scenarios. This work aims to inform more inclusive and accessible tourism policies in both regions.
