Professor Alex Dickson, Department of Economics at Strathclyde Business School, led a Masterclass in Dubai entitled “Economic Analysis for Strategists”. The event was attended by alumni as well as current and prospective MBA students. Participants acquired the expertise necessary to inform strategic decision-making and drive business growth, developing a nuanced understanding of concepts, including supply and demand, opportunity cost, and market structures, as well as understanding how macroeconomists use tools to forecast profitability, market behaviour and how game theory is used.

Scottish Government Minister for Business, Richard Lochhead MSP visited the Dubai centre in February where discussions centred around latest progress on cyber security, space and leadership executive development courses in the UAE and SBS’s latest activities were also showcased. Dr Sharon Lèmac-Vincere, Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship, Strategy and Innovation, joined the discussions, sharing progress on cyber security, space and leadership executive development courses in the UAE. SBS alumni in the UAE’s digital and health sectors shared their insights with Mr Lochhead and we are grateful for their involvement on the day.
