Visiting Economist role for SBS academic
Dr Livia Pancotto, Department of Accounting and Finance, has been appointed as a Visiting Economist at the Bank for International Settlements in Basel for a six-month period. In this role, she will work on a joint research project on digital finance adoption across countries, while also contributing to the broader policy work of the Monetary and Economic Department.
This opportunity builds on her earlier engagement with the BIS, including a research visit in May 2025 as Technical Adviser, and will further strengthen links between SBS and leading international policy institutions, with insights feeding back into research and teaching activities.
C&C Group continues partnership with Department of Marketing
C&C Group are once again sponsoring the Brand Management assignment for Strathclyde Business School’s marketing undergraduate students – in doing so, students are being given the chance to work on C&C Group’s brand ‘Outcider’.
Thomas McAlinden, class co-ordinator for the Brand Management module, said, “This project embodies Strathclyde’s ethos of being ‘the place of useful learning’ and is a great opportunity for the students to work on a real life brand and apply theory to practice. I’m delighted that my initial approach to C&C Group to engage with students in this module has resulted in a continuing relationship over the years which has benefits for all.”
The top five individuals will then present to C&C Group in March 2026 with the overall best brand manager with the best brand plan crowned winner.
