WEO prizewinners enjoy pre-graduation celebration

During graduation week, the Department of Work, Employment and Organisation hosted an evening on November 5 to celebrate the success of their graduating Master’s students in Human Resource Management, International Human Resource Management and work psychology.

The Department’s prize-winning students from the graduating cohort who had the highest project marks presented their dissertation research to help new students understand what to expect from the dissertation stage of their Masters’s in HRM, International HRM, Occupational Psychology and work and Organisational Psychology.

The current and graduating Master’s students heard keynote talks from two top business leaders - and very recent Strathclyde Business School graduates - Jannie Kjaer Jorgensen of CapGemini Invent, who did the MSc Occupational Psychology in 2024, and Emily Hutton of Morgan Stanley, who graduated in 2020 after doing the MSc Human Resource Management.

Both Jannie and Emily talked about their exciting career progression and the value of the practical people management skills that they learned at Strathclyde, including conducting research on a real-life HR challenge within workplace settings, giving students an understanding of short- and medium-term career progression.
