Enterprise Fellow receives Fellowship of the Institution of Civil Engineers

Wendy White-Finnigan, Enterprise Fellow at Strathclyde Business School, has achieved Fellowship of the Institution of Civil Engineers (FICE), recognising sustained leadership and impact within the civil engineering profession.

This followed the award of the ICE Scotland 2025 Sustainability Champion Award, presented at the Institution’s annual dinner, in recognition of applied work in carbon literacy and behaviour change. The award relates to The Carbon Shift programme, designed and delivered by Wendy, which focuses on translating sustainability strategy into operational practice.

Through this work, behaviour change principles were applied to support over 200 non-English-speaking employees in managing wastewater treatment infrastructure, contributing to a river achieving “satisfactory” quality status for the first time in 25 years. The recognition from both events is where her work in industry aligns delivery with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, demonstrating how people, planet and profit can be integrated in practice.

These achievements reflect the applied, industry-embedded expertise that informs teaching across Strathclyde Business School’s Master’s programmes and Executive Education.

Wendy will officially become a Fellow on June 5 at the London HQ of ICE.
