Scottish MBA Conference 2026 hosted at Strathclyde
Strathclyde Business School hosted the annual Scottish MBA Conference 2026 at the University’s Technology & Innovation Centre.
This annual event saw a brilliant gathering of MBA cohorts from Strathclyde, the University of Edinburgh Business School, and the University of Glasgow’s Adam Smith Business School, alongside industry leaders, alumni, and employers.
The day opened with a warm welcome from Professor Alex Dickson, followed by an inspiring keynote from dr Poonam Malik, whose insights on innovation and leadership set the tone for the conversations ahead.
Key Themes from the panels were:
AI & Technology:
Mark Evans (360 Strategy), Gavin Marley (Cognizant), and Rafia Taskeen (Elaichi & Love) explored how AI is reshaping industries and the skills leaders need to navigate this shift.
Responsible Leadership & Sustainability:
This discussion featured Paula Cousins (The Weir Group), Charles Langan (Scottish Power), Selina McCole (Goldman Sachs), and Doug Morwood (Regenerative Futures). The panel emphasised the growing expectation for leaders to drive sustainable transformation while balancing commercial realities.
Talent Acquisition:
Craig Christmas (Aegon UK) and Stuart Jack (Hays) shared insights on the evolving talent landscape - from the importance of agility, curiosity, and cross-functional capability in future MBA talent.

The afternoon concluded with keynote contributions from Chris Browne OBE and Professor Eleanor Shaw, both highlighting the importance of purposeful leadership, collaboration, and continuous learning in a rapidly changing world.
