Kingston at 11:33, Wed 25th June, 2025Hello Ian & Mark, As part of the requirements to firm up my admission into the MSc Financial Technology program, I am required to make a deposit. What would be an ideal percentage (or range % ) of the total fee that should be paid as deposit? And what is the cut-off date for this deposit? Thanks.![]()
Hello Kingston, The usual deposit is £5,000 and this will be mentioned on your offer letter, but some countries will be asked to pay a different amount. https://www.strath.ac.uk/studywithus/feesfunding/howtopay/tuitionfees/ there is no deadline to pay a deposit, but you may have a deadline if you are relying on a scholarship. You can always contact me on my e-mail (ian.bartholomew@strath.ac.uk) if you have any further questions about your application. Regards, Ian

Ritesh at 11:01, Wed 25th June, 2025Hi, I’ve received an offer for the MSc Finance program for the September 2025 intake. I’m considering deferring to the January 2026 intake instead. Are there any academic or structural differences between the September and January intakes ? The website mentions that CFA and GARP accreditations only apply to the September intake. Since I’ve already passed CFA Level 1, will this affect anything in terms of learning content or career opportunities?![]()
Hello Ritesh, My colleague from the department is having issues in replying to messages at the moment. Hopefully this will be resolved soon. Thanks, Ian

Hi Ritesh. There are no academic or structural differences between the September and January intakes. The CFA and GARP accreditations apply to the programme overall. I am not sure I folllow your final question. Perhaps you could rephrase it?
