Questions and Answers:

Hello, I'd also like to ask, after the application process, until when would we need to accept a potential offer? I'd be interested in attending with a scholarship, thank you very much.

Hi, I'd like to ask the following: On the university website it says that the learning will be a blend of campus-based activities and online, will this be for the full 1st semester based on the current plans? The course for Tourism Marketing Management has the elective 'sector studies' in the 2nd semester, do you know whether that would still be available to select in our curriculum, or where it'd take place? Lastly, would the online classes at the beginning of the year be at specific times where the whole classes would meet online or would it be each student reading the material at their own time? Thank you.
Carol Christie

Hello Savina. You will find my answer to questions relating to online versus face-to-face teaching in my response to Agota. Arrangements regarding online teaching and learning will take many different forms to ensure that students in a different timezone from the UK are not disadvantaged.

The Sector Studies electives, in the previous form of classes held outside of Glasgow, will not be offered in the upcoming academic session. This decision has been made for several reasons, including the very uncertain global conditions relating to the coronavirus pandemic.

Until October 26 classes will be held exclusively online? If there are in person classes before that (even if only a few) i would want to be there for them, but I need to schedule my flight soon, so it would be great to know when the course starts to incorporate face-to-face teaching :) Thanks!

Hi Agota

As my colleague Carol mentioned in her previous reply, full details of timetabling will be provided during induction but if possible, you should aim to arrive as soon to the start of teaching (week of 21 September) as you can. You shoudl bear in mind your accommodation too when looking to book flights which may need you to pay from a certain date, depending on the contract.

Best regards

Lucy

Hello Agota. As I'm sure you can appreciate, the University is currently undertaking extensive planning and preparation activity to optimise the student experience under uncertain global conditions. I fully appreciate that you wish to be in Strathclyde for face-to-face classes, but at this stage, University advice, within Government regulations, is that classes will take place online for the first few weeks, then a blended model will enable a degree of face-to-face classes for a further few weeks. The exact timining of transitions from online, to blended and ultimately face-to-face lectures has not been confirmed. Please refer to the University website for regular updates on plans for semester 1 teaching.

Hi there, when will we know about registration process? Also when will the timetable (classes) be available to know which classes are on which days?
Lucy Reynolds

Hi Agota

Registration information will be sent out to applicants who are fully confirmed, by our central admissions team over the coming weeks - the process hs changed for this year to include further online registration capability but international students will still need to present certain documentation in person when they arrive.

I understand timetables are being finalised over August, which is the norm and in any year, students would only get their timetable when they start the programme, but timetabling this year is also having to take into account Scottish Givernment guidlines on social distancing measures too.

More information will be updated at the following links over the coming weeks:

Hello Agota. Once all academic and financial conditions are met you'll be sent further information on registration by our Central Admissions Team. We are expecting this to be mostly online this year, but more information will be available in due course.

Information regarding your timetable (classes) will be distributed during Welcome and Orientation activities. It is important that everything is finalised before we relay this important information to students and, as I have no doubt you can understand, this year is slightly more complex than previously because of the effects of the pandemic and necessary arrangements regarding safety for students and staff.
