Strathclyde Business School wins 'Outstanding Contribution to Scottish HR' award

Strathclyde Business School was awarded the Outstanding Contribution to Scottish HR award at the annual HR Network Awards on November 8. The award recognises a longstanding and sustained contribution to the Scottish HR profession.

Veronika Gruber, who studied the MSc in International Human Resource Management in the Department of Work, Employment and Organisation, was also named Brodies LLP 'HR Graduate of the Year 2018'.

The awards were made at the 12th HR Network National Awards Gala Dinner in Glasgow. Around 800 HR professionals attended the event which recognises and rewards the champions of the Scottish HR profession.

The Outstanding Contribution to Scottish HR Award was presented to Strathclyde Business School for its services to the HR profession. It was noted that SBS is celebrating the 70th anniversary of its first Diploma in Personnel Management while the judges recognised the 'contribution SBS has made not only locally and regionally to the HR profession but also the impact it has made on HR internationally too".

Associate Principal and Executive Dean of Strathclyde Business School Professor David Hillier said, "I am absolutely delighted that we had two successes at the HR Network Awards. 

"The Outstanding Contribution to Scottish HR award recognises a longstanding and sustained contribution to the Scottish HR profession. During the introduction to the award it was recognised that Strathclyde Business Schyool has been offering professionally-accredited programmes since the 1940s and Strathclyde's ethos of being 'A Place of Useful Learning' was integral to everything we do in terms of education, research and knowledge exchange.

"I would also like to congratulate Veronika on her well-deserved win as Brodies' HR Graduate of the Year and wish her every success in the future."

Professor Tom Baum, Head of the Department of Work, Employment and Organisation, said, "We are delighted to accept this acknowledgement of our long-standing contribution to teaching, research and the wider work of the HR community.
