AMBA reaccredits Strathclyde MBA for maximum five year period

Strathclyde Business School’s MBA programme has been reaccredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA) for the maximum five year period. Following our recent reaccreditation by AACSB earlier this year, we have reaffirmed our triple crown status which comprises accreditation from AMBA, AACSB and EQUIS.

AMBA accreditation applies to all MBA routes including full time, part time and flexible learning, as well as our overseas offerings and bespoke MBA programmes such as MBA25. Re-accreditation is made following a rigorous on-site assessment of the MBA, which looks at all aspects of the programme including student cohorts, research, partnerships, faculty and industry connections. This assessment is conducted by a panel of business school experts along with an AMBA representative.

AMBA accreditation is awarded to the best programmes internationally and denotes the highest standard of achievement in postgraduate business education. Students, business schools, graduates and employers all recognise it as a gold standard. AMBA currently accredits programmes from the top 2% of business schools in over 70 countries.

Professor David Hillier, Associate Principal and Executive Dean of Strathclyde Business School, said, “I’m delighted that AMBA has reaccredited our MBA for the maximum five years once again. Accreditation is a reliable indicator of a top quality programme for students and employers and Strathclyde has been accredited by AMBA since 1983.  Our triple accreditation reflects our standing as a leading business school in an international technological university that is socially progressive at its core.

“The award is also testament to the quality of our students, alumni and staff who participated in the reaccreditation process. Strathclyde Business School has always been a pioneer in the MBA field since its introduction of the first one year full-time MBA programme in 1966 and we continue to aim high with our MBA portfolio – AMBA recognises that accredited programmes reflect changing trends and innovation in the postgraduate education sector.”

AMBA particularly commended the School’s ambitious and entrepreneurial leadership team, its quality student body, impressive learning environment and engaged and enthusiastic faculty.
