Applications invited for Stephen Young Scholarships 2025

Applications are invited for the Stephen Young Global Leaders’ Scholarship Programme (SYGL) scholarship which funds up to five awards for scholars of exceptional merit undertaking the Strathclyde MBA on a full time, one year study basis, starting September 2025.

The scholarship awards seek to honour Professor Stephen Young, a former Head of the Department of Marketing at Strathclyde Business School. In his memory, the Charles Huang Foundation donation funds up to five scholarship awards each year - Professor Young was Dr Charles Huang’s supervisor and mentor during his PhD studies. Dr Huang gained his MBA from Strathclyde in 1989 and his PhD in Marketing in 1994. He is a global business leader and founder and chairman of Pasaca Capital Inc, a California based private equity firm established in 2016 with a global focus on investing into innovative technologies and products.

SBS accepted four students for the 2024-25 MBA programme as Stephen Young Scholars. The SYGL scholarship aims to develop global leaders who will have a positive impact on business, management, and society. Alongside the learnings from the renowned Strathclyde MBA programme, each SYGL scholar benefits from enhanced leadership opportunities as well as being part of the wider community of the Stephen Young Institute for International Business.

The Stephen Young Global Leaders’ Scholarship Programme is open to any outstanding candidate who believes that they meet our eligibility requirements and strongly reflect the values outlined in our criteria guidelines. Further information is available here and the deadline for applications is June 1, 2025.
