About Mel Young

Mel Young is Co-founder and President at the Homeless World Cup. Previously, Mel worked as a journalist and editor with a social conscience. He co-founded multiple publications, including The Big Issue in Scotland. He is the former President and Honorary President of the International Network of Street Papers which he co-founded. He is the Chairman of Sport Scotland, the national sports agency for Scotland. Previously he was a non-executive director on the board of Glasgow Life. He is a former member of the World Economic Forum Sports Agenda Council. He has been awarded five honorary degrees from Scottish universities.
