SBS is RRBM Pioneering Institution

SBS has been named a Pioneering Institution by the RRBM (Responsible Research in Business and Management) following a submitted application by the business school which was put together by Dr Matthew Alexander.

The designation of RRBM Pioneering Institution is intended for business schools, journals or academic associations that, through their observable action, are committed to the principles and vision of RRBM. Pioneering institutions as a group contribute to the advancement of responsible research and also will prepare schools to meet new accreditation standards that emphasise a school's societal impact through its research and teaching programmes.

RRBM is dedicated to inspiring, encouraging, and supporting credible and useful research in the business and management disciplines. It’s a virtual organisation initially developed by a group of 24 leading scholars in five disciplines at 23 university-based business schools in 10 countries and now joined by a much larger community. The organisation is supported by groups including AACSB, EFMD, PRME, Aspen Insitute’s Business and Society Program, GRLI and many business schools worldwide.

Strathclyde Business School's Professor of Strategy Peter McKiernan is one of the 24 founding members involved in setting up the organisation which, he says, is dedicated to playing a vital part in ensuring research is produced which has business and societal impact. This responsible research then feeds into responsible teaching and preparation of responsible managers.
