Software & services
PEGASUS
You can access many University systems online through PEGASUS, the University’s web-based communications service. PEGASUS provides you access to key services such as:
- Password reset
- Class and exam results
- Online registration
- Campus maps
- Your personal details, including where you can update your contact details
- Library information including details of books you have on loan, past exam papers and reading lists
Myplace
Myplace is the University's Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and delivers online resources and activities for your classes. Find out more about MyPlace
Available Software
The University provides licenses for many software packages for use by students, many of which are available for installation on personal devices, such as Microsoft Office. This service is free of charge but you must check the licensing terms and conditions before downloading. To find out what software is available to you visit www.strath.ac.uk/is/software
Please note when taking advantage of the many packages provided that you must comply with all licensing conditions which will normally mean you have to remove copies of software from your personal devices when you leave the University.
Course Software
Some of the courses run within SBS require specialist business software which is not available via the University portal. Decision Explorer and Simul8 are packages which can be accessed from the SBS course software page
Office 365
When logged into Microsoft Office 365 you also have access to a suite of other Microsoft Office applications including online versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Forms. Find out more about Office 365
Zoom Video Conferencing
All students have a licence to use Zoom, where you can create student groups to chat online, create meetings with up to 300 participants and join online webinars and lectures. Find out more about Zoom Video Conferencing
Assistive Technology
The University has a wide range of assistive technology available on campus, with assistive software included as standard on PCs in centrally-managed computer labs.
