Storage & Backup

Microsoft OneDrive

There are so many different places students can save data to: USB flash drives, USB hard drives, one of many Cloud based systems (iCloud, DropBox, OneDrive) and even your own local laptop drive. But the single most important thing to remember with ALL YOUR DATA, is to have it backed up to more than one place.

As a student you have access to OneDrive through your Office 365 account and we recommend you make use of the 1Tb of storage it offers. Some advantages of using OneDrive for storage are: it will be available anywhere you have internet access, you can sync it to your local laptop, it has a recycle bin in case you accidentally delete a file, it retains different versions of your file (so if you overwrite a file, you can go back to an earlier revision) and you can even share files and collaborate in real time with other students.
