Celebrating the Stephen Young Global Leaders MBA graduates
Two cohorts of Stephen Young Global Leader (SYGL) MBA scholars met up on November 10 – a chance for the outgoing group to say goodbye after finishing their full-time Strathclyde MBA studies and to share their experiences with the incoming cohort.
Mya Thwe, Shubham Agarwal and Mudit Lamba (pictured) were back in Glasgow for the Strathclyde MBA graduation on November 7 and they went on to meet the incoming SYGL cohort comprising Pius Deo Andruda, Jessalyn Gerbholz, Oluseun Anisere, Kolawole Adekanmi, and Lisa Mahlupeka.
Professor Emma Macdonald, Charles Huang Chair in International Business & Innovation and Director, Stephen Young Institute for International Business, said, “We’re delighted to have our second cohort of Stephen Young Global Leader scholars back in Glasgow to celebrate their graduation. We are very proud of all they achieved while they were on campus and look forward to them taking the set of business skills and enhanced leadership competencies they developed on the Strathclyde MBA out into the world to make a positive impact wherever they go.”
Mudit Lamba received a Dean’s MBA Project Commendation, Shubham Agarwal won the Strathclyde Inspire Entrepreneurship Challenge and Mya Thwe has been accepted onto the Strathclyde PhD programme. Both Mya and Shubham wrote blog posts on their Strathclyde experiences – read them on the SBS blog page.
The SYGL 25-26 MBA students are the third cohort of Stephen Young Global Leader MBA scholars. The scholarships are awarded following a rigorous selection process, receiving a generous scholarship to support them in undertaking the Strathclyde MBA full-time programme based at the Glasgow campus.
The SYGL scholarship aims to develop global leaders who will have a positive impact on business, management, and society. Alongside the learnings from the renowned Strathclyde MBA programme, each SYGL scholar benefits from enhanced leadership opportunities as well as being part of the wider community of the Stephen Young Institute for International Business.
The Stephen Young Global Leader (SYGL) scholarship award is presented in the name of Professor Stephen Young, a former Head of the Department of Marketing and co-founder of the Strathclyde International Business Unit. The award is made possible through the generous donation of Dr Charles Huang and the Charles Huang Foundation.
